Requirements

Bradford Youth Development Partnership relocated to new premises in November 2011. To coincide with their move, they wanted to upgrade their telephone system to one that would give all members of staff the ability to communicate in a more ʻjoined upʼ or cohesive way.

Their old system was outdated in that calls were not always channeled to the best person to answer specific queries and there was no functionality to forward calls. Voicemail and autoattendant facilities were key requirements for BYDP and Russell Telecom used this information to formulate a package that would best suit the organisation’s key requirements.

Solutions

Russell Telecom carried out a thorough review of the organisation’s telecommunications system before deciding that the new NEC SL1100 solution would suit their requirements ideally.

Ideal for up to 70 extensions, this solution could embrace the organisation’s need for scalability. The SL1100 makes any team more reachable, more responsive and more productive.

Russell’s dedicated team of engineers are all CRB checked which was a huge positive as it enabled the work to start and complete without any delay.

Results

BYDP is very pleased with its new telecoms system.

Several benefits of the new system were identified:

Intuitive features that all employees could use from day one
Handsets and applications include shortcuts that speed up working processes
Time-saving applications empower members of staff to become more productive

Zahida Hussain, Manager at BYDP, identified the callforwarding and voicemail features as the most useful. “The previous system did not provide a variety of recordable voicemail options. The new system allows the staff team to respond to calls more efficiently and this will, in turn, reduce costs” she explained.

The BYDP team now use the new auto-attendant and voicemail facilities, which have the ability to deliver email notifications, extensively.

In addition, Russell Telecom analysed the organisation’s telephone usage and costs. They have forecast a cost reduction in telephone bills using a new call package, which was fantastic news for the organisation.

BYDP have been delighted with the service, advice and solution provided by Russell Telecom and are confident that their new system will help them grow and prosper as an organisation.

Chris Johnson, Assistant Manager at BYDP, commented: “Russell Telecom listened to our brief and identified a system that would meet our organisational requirements very well and, importantly, one that could be developed in the future.”
